Betty L. Hayman, age 92, of Concord, Ohio passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Symphony at Mentor Care Community. She was born June 3, 1923 in Solon to Leo H. and Lillian (Creter) Kibler. She married Don Hayman in Claxton, GA in 1943.
Betty was a loving person. She grew up in Solon, Ohio on her family’s dairy farm. After the war, she lived in Madison-on-the-Lake with her husband and parents. They built and rented summer cottages for many years (Waverly Beach). Later, she was the administrative assistant for Lake County Common Pleas Court judges until her retirement.
She enjoyed playing golf, especially in North Carolina where she wintered at her condo. She also liked bird watching, playing cards, cats and books, her favorite being mystery stories. She was a librarian assistant at the Madison Public Library when her children were growing up.
She is survived by daughter, Donna (Jake), Collens; son Clifford Hayman; grandchildren Phillip Heath and Scott (Jennifer) Heath; great grandchildren Brad, Wes and Scott Heath; great great grandchildren Xavier Heath, sister Marjorie (Stanley) Smigel and beloved nieces Libby and Nancy. Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband Don in 1995.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Solon, Ohio.

Saddened to hear of Betty's passing. She was a beautiful lady, a beautiful person. I don't think any of the other moms would have allowed us boys to stockpile "borrowed" pumpkins in their backyard. My sincere condolences to the family.

I wanted to acknowledge Betty's passing with warm memories and respect. I met Betty in 1976, when she worked for Judge John F. Clair, Jr. at the Lake County Courthouse and I was seeking employment as an Official Court Reporter, eager to begin a new career at that time. Betty was very fair and patient with me, conferred with the Judge and coworkers, and I know she was very supportive in suggesting that I be given an opportunity to fill a vacant position at the time, after a trial period of doing freelance reporting for the Court. We became coworkers and friends over the next four years. I always remembered Betty very fondly, and for being an excellent secretary. My deepest condolences for your loss!
