Carol Lynne (Pinney) Porter age 73, passed away December 26, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 28, 1947 to Harry L. Pinney and Margie E. Easton Rex. She is survived by her husband Owen; her three sons; her stepfather, Howard T. Rex, whom she spent most of her life with and adored; her sister Gladys Pinney; brother Mark (Kathy) Rex; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Rex and father, Harry Pinney and brother James Pinney, and her beloved friend Janet.
A mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a best friend, an aunt— Carol was a person we should all strive to be. Kind, compassionate, empathetic, funny, adventurous, easy-going; a beautiful woman all around. Carol was the first homecoming queen of her beloved Pymatuning High School, in Andover, Ohio. Carol retired from the Geneva Area City Schools but dedicated most of her life to being a homemaker on “Ye Olde Homestead” as she fondly referred to it, in Harpersfield, Ohio with her husband Owen S. Porter. They raised three handsome sons, Aaron (Katie) Stanford, Zachary (Emily) Porter of Harpersfield, and Joshua Porter of Harpersfield. Her three boys were her pride and joy and she loved them unconditionally and nurtured them. She loved them for who they are and for all of their unique differences until her very last breath.
A devoted wife, Carol and Owen spent 42 years together building a home and a family to be proud of. They enjoyed gardening together every year and maintaining their beautiful historic home. Carol’s cooking, baking, free spirit and hospitality will forever live on in Owen and her boys, her nieces, nephews, grandkids, siblings, cousins, friends, and even acquaintances.
Carol left a footprint on all hearts she met. The void she will leave is something we will all notice. As her son Josh so eloquently said, “could you imagine the void that would be there if her and Owen would have never met.” Her smile, her laugh, her love, and legacy will live on in every fresh snow fall, in every beautiful dessert, every sweet sip of Niagara grape wine, in every quiet summer night under an oak tree, in every hot summer day in the garden picking tomatoes and snapping green beans; Carol’s life was blissful, picturesque, and worthy of a story and she would tell you that in every conversation she shared.
To Carol, a beautiful soul you are our angel–always have been and always will be.

She was unselfish and giving to others. Her positive spirit and laughter always made me smile. She had a special gift of putting people at ease and making them feel special. Carol was smart and hardworking. I watched her at her job working with schoolchildren. She had unlimited patience with them and was respected by everyone. I learned a lot from her. From going to Deming,living together in Orwell, working together at Kennemetal, after high school, rolling her Corvair over on 322, afraid to call each other's name in case we were dead and pinned under a tree laughing when we knew we weren't dead, living in Cleveland and traveling all over Europe, coming home pregnant, we spent a lot of fun times, I will miss you my friend, enjoy heaven.....untill we meet again❤
