Carolyn Jo Doolan, age 65 of Rome, Ohio, passed away on April 13, 2019 at the UH Geauga Medical Center. On February 9, 1954, she was born to Frieda (Heiney) and Kermit Freed in Cleveland, Ohio. Carolyn graduated from Nordonia High School in 1972, and she married Daniel M. Doolan on November 22, 1975 in Twinsburg, Ohio.

She was a member of Bethel Bible Church. Carolyn enjoyed flower gardening and kept a special place in her heart for her canine companion, “Ellie Mae”. Most of all, Carolyn was devoted to her family, children, and grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dan; children, Kayla R. (Jeff) Stroup, Stymie (Robin) Doolan, Matt (Joanna) Doolan; grandchildren, Noah, Grace, Lola, Glory, Lainy, Molly; her parents; several nieces and nephews; and her siblings, David Freed, Sherri Ciarcia Hostettler and Elizabeth Wolf. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Freed.

Family will receive friends from 4 – 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Bethel Bible Church, 877 E. Beech Street, Jefferson, OH 44047. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will take place at 6:00pm immediately following visitation in the church.
