Charleen Lalka, age 76, of Madison, Ohio passed away at home Friday, October 14, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. Charleen was born on September 20, 1940 in Rocky River, Ohio, the daughter of Pearl (Pedersen) and Charles Ody, and attended Rocky River High School. Charleen married Colman R. Lalka on December 8, 1969 in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Charleen enjoyed spending time as a 4-H leader, working for years with children in dog and horse clubs. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and involved with both the Madison and Fairport Senior Centers. She enjoyed going with her husband to the race track to watch the horses run. She also fostered numerous Greyhound rescue dogs, as well as having dogs of her own. She is survived by her husband, Colman R. Lalka; children, Linda Wright, David Michael, Michelle Michael, Brenda Bishop, Colman Lalka Jr., Margaret Lalka; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio 44057. Visitation will be from 2 – 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.

She helped me with groceries when times were tough. We worked together at The Englebrook. After she moved to Madison we lost touch, but she remained a friend. Rest in peace.
