Florence Floss Irene New, 92, of Madison OH, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018, at The Lantern of Madison. She was born in Madison, OH on January 7, 1926 to Floid and Theresa (Deckelman) Brainard. Floss found a wondrous love with her high school sweetheart, Omer New, and married him in 1946.

Floss graduated Madison Memorial High School in 1944. She worked 36 years at Industrial Rayon Corp in Painesville and 10 years at Joseph Hornes. She was a member at First Baptist Church in Painesville, serving on the Diaconate Sunday School and Lydia Circle. Floss loves Jesus her Savior.

She is survived by her sister, Ivah Roberts, and several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Flosss favorite time of life was with her husband, Omer, who passed too soon in 1954. She joins him now in the presence of our Lord and Savior. Florence also joins her parents; sisters, Vurnis Schneider, Evelyn Chandler; and brother, Floyd Brainard.

Funeral service will be 11am Saturday Feb. 10, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Painesville, 10801 Johnnycake Ridge Rd. Painesville, OH 44077, with Pastor Edwards officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to service. Final resting place will be Perry Cemetery.
