Harold Nathan Seames heard the voice of his Heavenly Father on Friday, February 12, 2021 and was welcomed into heaven with the words: “Well done my good faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness.” Matthew 25:21. Harold was born on February 23, 1929 and was 91 years old. He loved his wife, Gloria, to whom he was married for 69 wonderful years. His children are Cheryle (David) Newmeyer, Nathan (Sherri), Kenneth, Jerry (Eileen), and Darren (Michelle). His grandchildren are Titus James, Joshua (Tiffany), Ona (Shane), Elisha, Kevin (Stephanie), Peter, Julie (Tayler), Kailee, and Jacob. He has 10 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Patricia (Robert) Reifsneider. He was preceded in death by his son Darrell, and his parents Walter and Marguerite Seames.
Harold loved his family and created memories with them as they grew. He became known as the ‘Apple King’ of the South Ridge Fruit Farm, his home. He loved camping, boating, and traveling with his family. His favorite place to visit was his home state of Maine. There are many unforgettable stories of the travels of the Seames family.
He was an electrician by trade and was a member of the IBEW LOCAL 673/762 for 72 years and he was recognized for years of service. During his career he passed his love for the trade on to three sons and a grandson. He made many wonderful friendships over his years working as a lineman—Harold knew no strangers.
Harold was a member at Peoples Church in Geneva for over 60 years. During this time he also served as an elder for the church. He taught Bible studies and became a mentor, caregiver, and discipler of many. He would often say that his one desire in life was for all to know “his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
Harold displayed this desire through his fervent love for his family. He was a faithful husband, a dedicated father, and a supportive grandfather. As a husband, he pursued his wife, Gloria, for over 69 years and the two became inseparable; they were an embodiment of “till death do us part.” As a father, he provided for his children in time, love, and care. He was always equipped and willing to provide guidance and wisdom. As a grandparent, he ensured his home was a comfortable and fun place by picking apples, taking tractor rides, and having sleep overs.
Harold encapsulated the love he always talked about and left a heritage of faith for his family and friends.
