Harry McElroy, 92, of Madison, Ohio, passed away January 1, 2019 peacefully at home. He leaves behind his loving daughters, Donna English and Bonnie Chatto, as well as many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and loved nieces and nephews. He joins his wife, Eleanor; parents; and sister Elaine.
Harry was born July 25, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and married his love, Eleanor Berg on June 25, 1966. Harry ran away at 15 to join the Navy and fight in World War II. He served on over 10 Navy ships and retired from the Navy before marrying his beloved Eleanor. Not only was he a proud patriot, but also a loving husband, family man, and good neighbor.
Friends and family may call from 4-8pm, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio, 44057. Funeral service will be 10 am, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, Ohio, 44273.
