Ismael David Sepúlveda, age 93, of Geneva, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 at UH Geauga Medical Center. He was born January 15, 1927 in Lares, Puerto Rico, the son of Ismael and Hermina (Ortiz) Sepúlveda. He married Maria Julia Torres and together raised their family.
Ismael served in the U.S. Army just after World War II. He was a sonic inspector at the Alcoa Company and retired in 1978, after 23 years of service, and an active member of the Local U.A.W. During the 1960’s he worked at Cleveland radio station WZAK 93.1 on a Spanish 1 hour show and also served as an interpreter for the Geneva Court System. Ismael enjoyed playing dominoes and following the Cleveland Indians baseball team. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Maria (Torres) Sepúlveda; children, Adolfo Castillo, Betty (Mark) Castillo Phelps, Magda Sepúlveda, Lily Sepúlveda, David (Edda) Sepúlveda, Pete Sepúlveda; sibling Noemi Sepúlveda; grandchildren, Ryan Castillo, Edda Boyle, Ivan Sepúlveda, Bryan Seda, Liana Moser, and Tatihna Sepúlveda. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lillian Sepúlveda.
Friends will be received, 4-7 P.M., Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway Road, Geneva Ohio, 44041. A military service, led by the Geneva VFW, will begin the calling hours promptly at 4 P.M.
