John William Wolford, Jr., 62, of Madison passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, May 14, 2015.

He was born May 15, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late John W. Wolford, Sr., and Rosemary (nee Weber) Wolford, and had remained a longtime area resident. John graduated from Madison High School Class of 1972. He married the love of his life Tammey Rhodes on April 9, 1977.

John retired from the Avery Company as a Senior Research Tech after 35 years of service to the company. He enjoyed playing golf and riding his motorcycle. He was a lifetime member of the GWRRA, the “Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Most of all John loved spending time with his family and friends and he used every moment of his life reaching out to someone somehow.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 38 years, Tammey; sons, John W. Wolford, III and his wife Danielle of Painesville, and Robert Lee of Madison; sisters, Virginia Barth of Madison, and Judy Wolford of Geneva; and two grandsons, Logan William Wolford, and Kason Weinrich.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 5pm on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Cornerstone Friends Church, 2300 North Hubbard Road in Madison. Rev. Mark Winner will officiate the service.
