Josephine Fidel Sidley, age 96, of Unionville, passed away March 12, 2018.

She was born November 24, 1921 in Cleveland; was a 1940 graduate of Geneva High School and married Paul G. Sidley on July 25, 1953 in Madison. Josephine worked as secretary for Geneva Savings and Trust, where she also worked as a teller. She then worked as bookkeeper for Fidel Brothers Packing Co. in Unionville, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed knitting, was an avid quilter and seamstress, and loved watching Cleveland Indians baseball and staying current with technology.

Josephine is survived by her daughters, Mary J. Sidley of Madison and Liz (Tom – deceased) Wayman of Unionville; a sister, Rose Fidel of Holliston, MA; and two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Paul Sidley in 1972 and siblings, Anthony, James, Louis, and Mary Fidel.

Friends will be received Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m. at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Church, 594 W. Main St., Geneva. Final Resting Place will be Fairview Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands, c/o Assumption Church, 594 W. Main St. Geneva, OH 44041.
