Kent L. Scott, age 76, of Madison, Ohio passed away Friday, November 03, 2017 at his home. He was born May 22, 1941 in Cleveland, the son of William H. Scott and Dorothy (Myers) Scott.
A 1960 graduate of Fairview Park High School, Kent went on to earn his Bachelors of Education at Miami University in Oxford. In 1968, he received his Masters in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire. As a naturalist, he worked at Lake Metroparks for 26 years. Involved in many conservation groups Kent enjoyed sharing his gifts and talents with others.
Kent is survived by his wife of 45 years, Penny (Borchart) Scott; step-son, Ian Steinback; brothers, Sidney and Greg Scott; and niece, Jillian Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honoring Kents deep love of nature, he will be laid to resting at Foxfield Preserve in Wilmot, Ohio.
The Behm Family Funeral Home of Madison is assisting the family at this time.

Kent Scott introduced my husband and me to the enjoyment of hiking and Lake Metroparks. We went on many programs with Kent and he inspired us to continue hiking and Metroparks programs with our children -- carrying them in backpacks as infants and then walking with them as they grew older. These experiences led both of them to a deep appreciation of nature and the wild, with our son working for four college summers at Cheley, a camp in Estes Park, Colorado. Just this past weekend, we joined our daughter and her fiancé and hiked trails in Shenandoah. I always will remember Kent with fondness and appreciation for instilling in us (and many others) the love of the natural environment he so readily shared with all.
