Every year, mom and I would go on different adventures when she would come to GA during the winter months. Taking a drive to a different state was our order of business — to see someone we haven’t seen in a long while or just go see something we never seen before. This one trip sticks out the most. It was my nieces wedding down in FL, and we left a couple days earlier to go a little further south to Indian Rocks Beach. Mom became emotional when we took her to the beach cause she shared with us the ONLY time she ever been to the beach was on her honeymoon 1948. Watching her gaze out to the ocean, tears falling from her eyes - saying “how beautiful and I just can’t believe I’m here.” An image that spoke a million words that will be forever embedded in my heart. Along with some wild stories mom and dad had while on the beach. Till we see each other again mama.

Mrs. K always had open arms for our family. She, by the way, was one of 2 ladies that made my wedding dress for me. Such a special memory, made with love.

It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love. And when it happens, the thought of never again being able to talk to, laugh with, or hold your loved one can be most difficult to bear. That pain is not necessarily erased by being told that your loved one is up in heaven. The Bible, however, holds out a much different hope. The Scriptures indicate that it is possible to be reunited with your dead loved one soon, not in an unknown heaven but right here on earth under peaceful, righteous conditions. Jehovah God, who started mankind off in a lovely garden, has promised to restore Paradise on this earth under the rule of His heavenly Kingdom in the hands of the now glorified Jesus Christ. (Matthew 6:10; Luke 23:42, 43) In that restored Paradise, the human family will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free from all sickness and disease. (Revelation 21:1-4) Gone, too, will be all hatred, racial prejudice, ethnic violence, and economic oppression. It will be into such a cleansed earth that Jehovah God through Jesus Christ will resurrect the dead. Please go to www.jw.org/en/publications/books/when-someone-dies/ for more information.

I lived across the street from Lil all of my childhood. I can honestly say I have never had a nicer, sweeter neighbor than her since I moved away. She was always in a good mood and smiling, and she had to put up with all of us Lanning's. You will be miss Lil
