Lois Jean (Nardini) DeBiase

Born: October 22, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio
Died: November 13, 2018 in Chardon, Ohio (Memory Care Residence of Maplewood) at age 74.

Lois is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dennis DeBiase of Perry, OH; beloved mother to Elizabeth Abramowitz (Steve) of Newton, MA, Denise DeBiase-Janson (Mike) of Chardon, OH, Daniel DeBiase (Nicole) of Mentor, OH, and Douglas DeBiase (Laura) of Eastlake, OH. Beloved grandmother of Aden (Liz), Matthew (Denise), Tristan and Anthony (Dan), Lindsey, Leah, and Joshua (Doug). She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Rose Nardini and brother Ronnie Nardini. She is survived by her brother John Nardini of Cleveland Hts., OH.

Lois Jean (Nardini) DeBiase was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Holy Redeemer primary school and Collinwood High School where she graduated early and at the top of her class. She played accordion, piano, studied the secretarial sciences, played softball, tennis and enjoyed bowling and alpine skiing.

Immediately after graduation, she worked at Bond Clothing in Cleveland. As a secretary with exceptional typing and dictation skills, she was hired by Parker Hannifin Aerospace in Cleveland as secretary to the engineering department. This is where she met her husband, Dennis. They wed at Holy Redeemer in Cleveland in 1967, and lived in Mentor and Eastlake before settling in Perry, Ohio.

While raising her four children, Lois was an active member of the Perry PTA, St. Cyprian’s Ladies Guild, Lake County Girl Scouts (leader), T-ball and softball (coach), North Ridge Lanes Bowling League, Women’s Soccer League, and Meals on Wheels (volunteer). In 1985, Lois went to back to work full time as the secretary to the chief of the Perry Township Fire Department, a position she held for the next 25 years. During this time, she served on the board of directors for the North Coast Chapter of Professional Secretaries International and the Perry Local School District Strategic Planning Committee; was a mentor and judge for Future Business Leaders of America; organized the annual Jim Garofalo Scholarship golf outings; and served on the scholarship board of the same name. She was respected and loved by all, retiring at age 66 in 2010. After retirement Lois traveled to Italy, cared for her mother, and enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

Calling hours are Sunday, November 18 from 1-4 PM at Behm Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 19 at 10 am at St. Cyprians Church 4223 Middle Ridge Road in Perry, Ohio. Internment at Perry Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the internment at St. Cyprians.
