Marie G. Hrbek, age 100, a long time Madison resident, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at The Sanctuary of Geneva Assisted Living. She was born January 13, 1918 in North Bergen, NJ, the daughter of Elsa Edna (Weigel) and Henry Carl Ludwig Eggeling. She married Edward J. Hrbek December 31, 1937 in North Bergen, NJ.
Marie had been very active in the church for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir. She had a strong affinity to family, was a story teller and an avid reader.
She is survived by son, Edward (Tina) Hrbek; daughter, Virginia (John) Shaffer; daughter-in-law, Susan Hrbek; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Edward J. Hrbek in 2007; son, David H. Hrbek; daughter Barbara H. Fisher; son-in-law, Ronald Fisher; parents; a brother and a sister.
A Memorial Service will be 11 am Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6345 Chapel Rd, Madison, OH 44057.
Final resting place will be North Madison Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Music Ministry.
