Mary Ann Smitko, 91, of Madison and formerly of Mentor-on-the-Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2016. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 4, 1924 to Ann (Licursi) and John Giuliano. She married the love of her life, Edmund Smitko on September 22, 1945 in Cleveland.
Mary Ann was employed with Quantum Chemical in Fairport, retiring in 1988. She was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mary Ann was an avid reader and bingo player. She also loved bowling and sewing.
Mrs. Smitko is survived by her children, Allen (Willa) Smitko, Ann (David) Myers and Daniel (Karen) Smitko; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Michael Giuliano.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmund in 1994; brothers, Albert “Dan” and Michael Giuliano; and a sister, Angela Heller.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2846 Hubbard Rd., Madison. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services at 11 A.M. Final resting place will be at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary Ann may be given to the charity of your choice.
