Mitchell K. Sickles, age 56 of Geneva, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic. Mitch was born March 13, 1958 in Geneva. He was the son of Ronald and Kathryn (Spore) Sickles. He married Janice Garlock on April 3, 1993 in Reno, Nevada.

Mitch was a 1976 graduate of Geneva High School. He was proud of his service to our country, serving on many submarines, and retired from the US Navy in 1996 after 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Geneva Eagles, the Masonic Lodge, GAMBA, and the Geneva Letterman’s Association. Mitch helped coach and work with the Geneva Junior High School tennis teams as well as chaperoning many trips for the Geneva Marching Band. He loved tennis, golfing, eating out, and playing music. Most of all, he loved the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, Jarrod of Lakewood and Joshua (Rachel) Kramer of Chicago; parents, Ronald and Kathryn “Casey” Sickles of Geneva; grandchildren, Micah and Tayva Kramer; brother, Doug (Michelle) Sickles of Geneva; sister, Terry (Donnie) Beckley of New Philadelphia and many other family members and friends.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 South Broadway in Geneva. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the funeral home with military honors to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans or to a charity of one’s choice.
