Ruth Becker Kuhn, age 89, of Madison passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born April 27th, 1932 in Enon Valley, PA, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Jackson) Becker.

Ruth graduated from Madison High School in 1950. She was active in the Madison community where she lived and raised her family. She served several terms as a Madison Village Council Member, and was a Girl Scout Leader for the local troops. She also served at the Lake County Mental Health Board. She loved sewing, quilting, and enjoying outdoor activities with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Edward (Katherine) Kuhn; granddaughter, Lindsay (Eric) Heidenreich; grandson, Brian (Allie Vandrak) Kuhn; great-granddaughter, Elise Heidenreich; step-son, John B. Kuhn, and sister, Shirley (George) Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Kuhn; her parents; siblings, Charles Becker, John Warren, and Lee Warren: and stepson, Robert Hensel.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery in Madison. Behm Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Ruth (Rick) will always live on in my memory. She was my Girl Scout leader and my good friend's sister. Ruth and Pete Peterson led our troop. She was energetic constantly teaching us new things such as songs, concepts, and the history behind many things in our world. We had many campouts that were always such fun with lots of hikes. We learned how to make buddy burners, which even today the simplistic makeup of them still intrigues me. I will always remember Ruth as a lady of integrity, warmth, and creativity as well as having a contagious laugh. She inspired me to not be afraid to get involved. She truly has always been an outstanding representative of the good people in Madison. My condolences to all of her family.
