Stanley Charles Boland, age 56, of Painesville, died unexpectedly April 3, 2018 at his home. He was born March 25, 1962 in Painesville to Fred and Nancy (Dickerson) Boland. Stanley graduated From Riverside High School, and then served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corp. Stan worked for Swagelok in Cleveland for many years. He loved camping in PA, watching civil War reenactments, fishing, playing guitar, and he was especially fond of his midget car, which he restored. Stan is survived by his mother; siblings Debbie (Mitch) Aide, Freddie (Janet) Boland and Vickey (Mike) Kellhofer; nieces and nephews Julie (Jimmy) Kincaid, Leslie Aide, Jack (Crystal) Boland, Jennie (Dawson) Knight, Jason (Michille) Kellhofer, Joshua (Yuko) Kellhofer, Breanna (John) Mulholland and aunts Judy Persinger and Jackie Neal. He was preceded in death by his father Fred D. Boland. Military graveside services to honor Stan were held on April 25, 2018 for his family at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH. The Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva assisted his family with arrangements.

Condolences to Stan’s family and sad to hear about his passing. My name is Marvin Gilbertson. I was a friend of Stan’s when we were both in the Marines and stationed at MCAS El Toro. We got out about a week apart and I gave him a ride from Southern California back to Painesville on my way home to Wisconsin. I am glad to hear that he continued to enjoy playing guitar. He used to borrow mine in the barracks occasionally. I have thought about trying to contact Stan over the years but only recently attempted to track him down on the internet. Unfortunately, what I found was his obituary. Stan was a good person and friend. Although I haven’t been in contact for many years, I still feel the loss.
