Thomas “Tom” Lang Mahusky, age 62, passed away August 9, 2021. He was born May 26, 1959 to William and Janet (Lang) Mahusky. He married Brenda Lee Hutson on August 31, 1991 in Chesterland.
Tom was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He held the position of deacon for “The City” the church that he deeply valued. Tom was a great outdoorsman and enjoyed telling others that he was a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, both with rifle and bow. For years he belonged to Sports Junction, where he competed with crossbow. One of his favorite past times was gardening with his wife Brenda, and spent hours canning their fresh produce. Most of all he loved being called “Papa” by his grandchildren and relished spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughter, Danielle (Chris) Gregory; son, Ryan Johnson; six wonderful grandsons; siblings, John Mahusky, twin sister, Marilyn Mahusky and sister, Sarabeth (David) Mahusky-Petras. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received 4-5 pm Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison with a Memorial Service following at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tom’s name to Seidman Cancer Center, 9485 Mentor Ave., Suite 3, Mentor, OH 44060 or Missions 22, 694 N. Larch St. #910, Sisters, OR 97752 (a suicide support mission for veterans and their families).

Tom & I worked together at Cleveland Hard Facing, Inc. for almost thirty years. Tom came to us with a valuable skill set that he had learned while serving on a U.S. Navy repair ship USS Ajax AR-6 which was a floating repair shop. That experience enabled him to become Shop Manager. He was always eager to learn new skills and processes. Tom was a "hands on guy" and was not easily intimidated by a difficult job. CHF was known for being taking on tough jobs and for quality work. Tom was a major part of that and his family can be very proud of him. He will be missed!

My name is Rodney Ohler Jr. Tom's old Neighbor which sense we had to move because of Financial reasons but I do remember helping Tom with a 300 pound air conditioner To help him Install it in his window that one hot summer And I remember being tired but having a lot of kindness in my heart for him and I would do it again if you were still here I love Tom and I will miss him. I also have a memory of helping Tom with his Snowed in driveway where he never asked me but I did it anyway God-bless you Tom we all love you RIP Buddy

I will always remember his garden which he was way proud of. My best memory is when I took over his office room with a deer head that has shot gun shells with xmas lights in them lol. Not sure what he really thought when I would say that was MY bedroom but he never said it wasn't☺. I'll miss you Tom. You are really a good friend that I am proud to have. See you when I get there. Watch over Brenda and the kids.

It’s hard to pick just one of the memories I have with “Tommy”. His smile and passion for life were infectious, as was his love for his family. One of the funniest times was when he and his nephew slept in my barn to hunt back in the woods. I was remodeling the house so he chose to just stay in the barn at night. Sometime in the night, a mouse crawled onto his sleeping bag on the cot, and freaked out his nephew a bit. We had many laughs of that “adventure “, and I always felt a bit bad that the house was such a wreck he couldn’t sleep there. But it was a great time for them, one of his fond memories too!
