Bobbie Abbey left a message on August 21, 2021:
Sadly we were unable to attend the celebration of Uarda's life today, but we wish to send our condolences to family and friends. We met Uarda at the Art Essence Gallery in Painesville in the 1990's. Stuart was a member as was Uarda. We enjoyed seeing her and her art at the receptions every couple of months and later the monthly luncheons with gallery members. I enjoyed our conversations over the years, especially her tales about her life and her travels. As a novice weaver, I was particularly impressed by her extraordinary creations at her loom and looked forward to seeing what she would come up with next. Bobbie and Stuart Abbey Mentor Ohio
Nancy Curtiss left a message on December 8, 2020:
I was one of the fortunate weavers who had opportunity to travel with Uarda to the last 2 Complex weaver conferences, one in Chicago, and the other in Reno. I think that her energy and verve put us "younger folk" to shame. It was truly a pleasure to talk weaving and sewing with Uarda, and her excitement to learn and try new things was infectious. Even in this past year I have missed her friendship, her jokes, and her enthusiasm as she shared yet another project that was either completed or in the works. She will always be a model to me of "ever learning, ever growing".
