Donald A. Bliss, age 90, of Madison Township passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on January 7, 2018. Born November 21, 1927 in Cleveland, he was the son of Lottie Blanche (Gaghagen) and Otto Frank Bliss. He married Mary Ann McGovern in Thompson on October 30, 1947.
Donald served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a paratrooper. He loved to travel all over the U.S. and Mexico.
He is survived by wife of 70 years, Mary Ann of Madison; daughters, June Sharratt of Eustis, FL, Nancy Gunnoe of Mantua, OH; sons, Larry (Carol) Bliss of Westminster, CO, Gary (Karen) Bliss of Arvada, CO, Tim (Wendy) Bliss of Buena Vista, CO; grandchildren, David and Suzanne Kne, Lisa, Kelly and Ernie Gunnoe, Donald and Todd Bliss, 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Kenneth (Rose) Bliss of Newport Ritchie, FL. Donald is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jim, Henry, Harry and Philip Bliss.
Friends will be received, Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057 with a service to follow at 7 p.m. Pastor Larry Carr of Pierpont Presbyterian Church will officiate. A private burial will be held at Fairview Memorial Park, Madison. Contributions may be made to Hospice of The Western Reserve 300 E. 185th St. Cleveland, OH 44119-1330
