Louis “Sonny” Dolton Pettit, 80, of Austinburg, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. He was born January 16, 1940 in England, Arkansas. He was the son of Milton Pettit and Izora (Tidmore) Pettit.

Louis served his country in the US Marine Corps and then as a police officer for several years following. He enjoyed fishing, trading with friends, and joking to make others feel better.

He is survived by sons, Danny (Lorraine) Pettit, Bryan (Marlene) Pettit, and daughter, Janine (Daryl) Wilson; grandchildren Helga Nicastro, Adam (Lindsay) Pettit, Alan Pettit, Lea (Jeffrey) Klepees, Noelani (David) Morrison, Bryana Pettit, Shonda (Vito Tovar) Castello, Loni George, Theodore (Amber) Sowell, Emma (Branden) Frame, Whitney George, and great-grandchildren Breanna (Ethan) Kangas, Matthew Davis, Daniel Davis, Chase Nicastro, Amaya Pettit, Kai Pettit, Kalan Pettit, Kirra Klepees, Axel Klepees, Nixon Morrison, Kailani Morrison, Gianna Dessert, Vito Tovar, Hannah Rivera, Ava Rivera, Payton Sowell, Ryker Sowell, Broderick Frame, Beckham Frame, Evelyn Frame, Atticus George, Buddy Paladino, Pepper Paladino, and River Hooks.
Louis is also survived by Bernita (Mary) Pettit and Artislee Morris, his former wives and good friends. Sarah Martin was a special friend to the end.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Aubrey Pettit, and sisters Reba (Clarence) Smith, Margaret (Richard) Dinwiddie, and Syble Pettit.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Final Resting Place will be Flynn Cemetery in Humnoke, Arkansas.
