Mary Ellen Hagert, age 82, of Thompson, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 13, at her residence surrounded by loved ones. Born January 14, 1934 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Lillian (Walsh) and Henry Mederer. She was married to Paul Hagert.
Mary’s Catholic religion was always at the forefront of her heart. Attending retreats since childhood, she contributed to her local churches, Women’s Business Owners and her Garden Club, amongst others, until near retirement. A former caterer, Mary was amazing in her kitchen as all her friends and family know. Her favorite things being her kitties, roses, antique collecting and crafts, she even undertook computing and of course computer gaming. Mary was indeed talented in everything handmade and homemade. She will be missed forever.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennie Newman, Carolyn (Nigel) Adlam, Lisa Hagert; son, Paul (Mary) W. Hagert; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hagert and her parents.
The family will receive guests from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at the Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. A very informal service will be held by family at 4 p.m. Fellowship to follow and will be announced during the family service.
