Paul “Pauly Wog” Compton, age 29, of Madison, passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends on Thursday February 19, 2015. Born March 8, 1985 in Painesville he was the son of Zady “Peaches” Compton and Paul Kovach. A 2003 graduate of Madison High School Paul was a State qualifier in wrestling. He went on to wrestle at Heidelberg College before becoming an award winning MMA Fighter. Voted Ohio’s most exciting Mixed Martial Artist he was the NAAFS 2007 Armature Lightweight MMA Champion. He was a professional fighter at Grifin Raw MMA Academy where he was a junior and adult instructor. He worked for Gallagher Plumbing and was a member of Plumbing Union Local 55. Paul was an extremely hard worker and had an amazing sense of humor. Everyone knew his passion for The Ohio State Buckeyes and his contagious smile would light up the room. He will be dearly missed by many friends and family. Paul chose to continue the gift of life through organ donation. He is survived by his son: Demitrious Compton; mother: Peaches Compton; fathers Paul Kovach and Dale (Michelle) Compton; sister, Cotie (Marc) Clevenger, Rikki Jean (Kevin) Christ; brother: AJ (Ashley) Kovach; grandparents: Jim & Violet Compton, and Vasie Bradshaw; aunt: Mary Hrwatzki; uncles: Todd Worthy, Michael (Rhonda) Kovach, Eli Krowlie, Joe (Lisa) Kovach, Johnny Kovach, and Jim Compton; cousins: Katie, Matthew, Jessica, Kevin, Camie, and Makayla Kovach, and his companion Bridget Holmes Paul was preceded in death by sisters, AnJilakia “Jelly” Compton and Renee Compton; grandparents: Walt and Zady Worthy and John Bradshaw; cousin Johnny Kovach. Friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6-9pm on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison. The Funeral Service for Paul will be at 11:00am on Friday, February 27th at Cornerstone Friends Church, 2300 North Hubbard Road in Madison. Final resting place will be Madison Memorial Cemetery on Arcola Road in Madison.
