Richard Allen Krauss, age 52, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at his residence. He was born on June 18, 1961 in Madison, Ohio to Irma M. (Lohrey) and Walter Krauss, Sr.

Richard was a Staff Sgt. In the U. S. Air Force for 21 years, retiring in 2004. He served in Dessert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and received a Bronze Star. In his past time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving, martial arts, repairing Piper Cub Aircrafts, and was an avid reader of science fiction.

Richard is survived by his mother, Irma M. Krauss of Madison; brother, Wally (Norma) Krauss, Jr., of Madison; Nephews, Walter (Kristen) Krauss, III of PA; Chad (fiancé, Lyndsey Moore) Krauss, of Madison; Nieces, Angela Stevens and Amy (Nicholas) Charboneau of WA; Autum Lanier of WA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Krauss, Sr. and sister, Carol Ann Stevens.

Private graveside services will be held at Rittman National Cemetery at a later date.
