Robert Gordon Brockway, age 75 of Perry, passed away Thursday January 11, 2018 at home. He was born October 24, 1942 to Ethel Means and Paul Brockway in Painesville, Ohio.
Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather whom we cherish deeply in our hearts. He was a graduate of The Bailey Technical Schools for Diesel-Gasoline Engine Mechanic. He was a master mechanic of diesel, automotive and small engines. His heart was devoted to Joyce Marie Dodge, and they were married on June 26th, 1965 in Fairport, Ohio. He designed and produced hovercraft prototypes and enjoyed building and piloting them on land and water. He retired from Painesville Country Club after serving as Chief Mechanic of Operations. His favorite pastime was performing electrostatic experiments and frequently posting them on his YouTube channel. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Robert is survived by his children, Janice Brockway (Edward Kozelka), and William Brockway; grandson, Raymond; sisters, Nancy Wakowski and Kathy (Doug) Heath; and brother, David (Karen) Brockway. He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Joyce; and his brothers, Ron and Phil Brockway.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday January 17th, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, Ohio. Burial will take place at a later date.
